Crossroads Inn Wiki

Campaign Mode is a gameplay mode in Crossroads Inn. "From an Innkeeper to a King". The player is guided by the overarching story, and must make decisions and complete tasks that influence and develop the narrative. The campaign is divided into the Prologue, designed as a tutorial for the player, and three acts.

In Campaign mode, the lands of the greater region of Delcrys are in turmoil following the unexpected death of the king of Yorevale. Play a humble farmhand whose narrow world is blown apart after adopting the new-found responsibility of running an inn.

A secretive and deadly power struggle for the throne provides the backdrop for an extended plot that sees the player navigate a series of increasingly trying tasks, quests and obstacles. Each development of the story submerges the player deeper into a world of political intrigue, corruption and adventure. Attempt to survive and thrive in a colorful and often treacherous world filled with loyalty and betrayal, gain and loss, crappy food and cold beer.

The Prologue introduces the overarching story of Crossroads Inn. The player learns basic controls and user interface (UI), and is introduced to the basics of tavern management.

The Prologue uses a series of objectives to be completed by the player to learn how to expand the tavern, place equipment and other objects, hire workers, order supplies, and use the Menu to provide basic services to tavern patrons (drinks, food, etc.).

Act I[]

Act I follows the Prologue and begins the story proper. It introduces many important NPCs - such as Countess Ellisa and Meilan - as well as touches on the mysterious past of the protagonist.

Among the game mechanics the player learns in this chapter there are: upgrading the inn, building Guest Rooms and Private Rooms, renting rooms to important NPCs, acquiring objects and recipes from locations on the Map, and increasing influence in cities.

Act II[]

Having managed to overcome the obstacles in Act I, the innkeeper must now face a shadow of a war between Yorevale and Untermarch. While a new antagonist, Lady Commander appears, two new possible allies - Calisterre and Ganis - arrive as well.

During Act II the player has to deal with inspections done by Lady Commander's soldiers, as well as try to affect the theatre of war in many ways, including performing story-related Quests.

Act III[]

(see for walkthrough)

Act III is the final Act of the game. After the events of the previous Act, a new danger appears: the corrupt Yorevale chancellor, Trovin. Luckily, a mysterious Baron Ezariah comes to the innkeeper's help.

The ending of the game depends on the player's actions and decisions during this last Act of the game. There are twelve possible endings, six good and six bad.
